The Spiritual Seed
Long before yoga, Andrea experienced a profound encounter with God, one that awakened a deep inner knowing and a calling to become a healer. That awareness stayed with her into adolescence, quietly shaping how she moved through the world.
She didn’t yet know where the path would lead, only that she was being guided.
The Awakening
After high school, Andrea received a track scholarship and was introduced to meditation in a structured setting for the first time. What was being taught felt immediately familiar, giving language and form to something she had practiced intuitively since childhood.
During one extended meditation, she experienced a rare spontaneous awakening. This marked another profound turning point, moving her futher along her life's path.
The Wandering Years
After the encounter, there was no immediate clarity about what came next. Andrea remained in California for several years, continuing to study, train, and deepen her understanding of movement, voice, and spiritual practice. It was a time of exploration without a defined destination but a period that, at the time, felt unanchored and uncertain.
Looking back, those years were quietly formative. Each class, training, and experience sharpened her skills and prepared her for an opportunity she could not yet see. When the invitation to teach finally appeared, it did not arrive as a return to the past, but as the beginning of something entirely her own.
Leaving a Legacy…
From my humble beginnings of West Milford, New Jersey. I owned and opperated a yoga stuio for over 10 years. My blood, sweat and a ton of tears went into creating this sacred space.
After many years of teaching, I became a certified as a SUP Yoga Teacher and spearheaded the Northern New Jersey SUP Yoga craze with classes at lakes, LiftimeFitness Centers and retreats.
I became the inventor of the Indoor Yoga Board, a sup yoga board for indoor practice. I presented the board at the Yoga Journal conference in NYC, sold boards and trainings across the country.
After many years of operating a studio, I decided to close my thriving studio. This was one of the hardest decisions of my life not because it was time to say goodbye but it was time to re-align.
I remembered my calling and decided it was time to take action. All based on my strong faith, I moved my business and my daugher to Arizona and to the healing red rocks of Sedona.
Today, you can mainly find me teaching outdoor yoga classes, retreats and trainings on the red rocks of Sedona and other beautiful destinations around the world with Powers Yoga™.
